Installed new plasma dials, and changed over the center dash to black (looks way better than the silver peeling paint)

gauges look great, although I imagine they are hard to see during the day (unless they light up like an astra h?)

and the centre dash looks 32593827523495872352987 times better than a coloured one!!!

It boggles my mind why people would put a bright blue/red one there instead!? It looks so tacky and ricey. I reckon a gloss black one would look great in a G.

Having said that, I'm sure a lot of people would say the fake carbon fibre on my B pillars, side mirrors, and door panels looks tacky, so touche

Mines going silver. But it will match a lot of silver parts inside the car (door handles, air vents, handbrake, dial/heater rings and cluster surround)

Yeah the white needles on the white background of the dials is some what harder to see during the day. But I work night shift s 99% of my driving is in the dark.

I am on the look out for someway to make my needles a lot brighter tho. If any one has any suggestions it'd be much appreciated.

not really. the only major problem was the radiator @ 125k, of which I must be unlucky, because it's not a common problem... other problems were leaking coolant overflow tank x 2, rocker cover gasket x 2... but that's minor. Still have stock clutch & turbo.

Ah that's good to hear. Yeah I've heard if you look after them, they'll look after you. I was a bit hesitant in getting it cos I heard parts are extremely expensive. I just had to buy 4 new engine mounts. Holden wanted just over $800 (not fitted) after reading abit on this site I sourced them from autovaux for $270 landed :) I even got a powerflex engine mount from Courtney motorsport for $35 landed

The motor was supposed to be reconditioned before I did not think so however the engine reconditioner said someone had had a go at it Now it was perfect with new guides valves seated and head milled. He had to weld where the head was blown through that alloy is soft and those exhaust gasses hot and when they are going where they should not be going without cooling they damage in a short period of time. So I will do some cleaning of other parts and tomorrow it will be back with wheels turning:lol:

Oh, and an EDS-IPF and looking at an FMIC. Going to to back to back dyno's at each step to see what differences are.
Probably rather put the FMIC on before the EDS to ensure intake temps are kept in check with the extra boost.

Sometimes the bad fuel economy is worth the fun. =)
I've never had a V6 before, so when there's some wannabe hoon in an old 98 Camry or Honda civic racing past...just go down one gear and let it rip.

Did my headlights today. They were scratched and oxidised like you wouldn't believe. Noticed a post last night about a kit that didn't seem to work so well and the guy just used cutting compond on it and it seemed to work OK. I tried that and it wasn't too good.

Got a kit from Supercheap this morning, Turtle wax light repair, and gave it a crack. At first I went throgh the whole process and it certainly made a difference but it wasn't perfect. Got to the last stage which was putting a protector coat on them a whoa!!!! Just like new. Not sure how long it wil last but the Veccy lights look great again. It was the protector wipe that seals the plastic that made all the difference. Give the kit a go.

Otherwise I know the auto glass shops have a service for about $45 a headlight that brings them back to new. Try o'briens or Novis??? Glass.

Because they charge heaps for a small infringement.
In NSW you get fined double if u're caught passing a "safety cam". It'll get you for crossing a red and going over the speed limit.
I only crossed the red and it gave me $344.

For example, "Drive on/over continuous white edge line" = $1031 and 4 points...REALLY?
Some of them are reasonable, other are pretty stupid so yeh.

+1 to the speeding. I got caught once dropped from a 100 to a 70 and I got caught doing 79 down a steep hill. About 100m after the limit changed.

My car... fitted rear Eibach springs and mudflaps and changed the front grill over. It looks so much more aggressive now. Started at 4.45 and finished at 5.30... the joys of owning a decent rattle gun... then it got too dark for pics and any other work. Will see how I go and maybe get fronts fitted tomorrow then an alignment ASAP.

I've been caught more than once, and each time the police officer asks me if I had a reason, i said "Yep, i'm a dickhead" lol.

My view is if your willing to speed, you should be willing to cop the fine. I've calmed down alot since going to the track though, now all I worry about is keeping the car safe so I have it for track days!

gman

I've been booked more times then I care to remember!!!

Always my own fault, though was once cautioned after a short conversation:

Police: you know you were speeding right?

Me: I do now, sorry about that.

Police: Any particular reason you were doing XXX here?

Me: Well none that are really a reason, except it's 2am, I'm on an expressway driving a GT3. That's about it really.

Police: Look, jut keep it under 110 and be sensible. Off ya go.

Me: cheers mate, champion!!!

Some police will take into account the circumstances, others don't. But if your doing 120kph is a 60 zone at 6pm on Friday, I wouldn't expect any "discretion" to be shown. :)

springs would have been removed and dropped on just the shocks

Actually the springs were in at lowest setting. Currently adjusted it to 130mm all round.

Fixed my dodgy Brostick for my gauges. Hopefully the gauge won't fall off tomorrow.

Also glued the metal accellerator pedal back on (SRiT have "racing" pedals) - yes it's only glued, and the clutch and brakes feel like they are just clipped on by some rubber!

Chucked a bottle of Nulon clean, boost, whatever the hell it was, into the petrol, afew engine coughs and farts later, the car ran beautifully.

thats exactly what i was getting at, only time to get mad at cops is when they target your car when your doing nothing wrong, every other time its your fault...

happen to me 2 nights ago.... got pulled over for doing 70km/h through a roundabout (in an 80km/h zone) didnt loose traction stayed in my lane and even indicated! Cop pulled me over said why do you think i pulled you over? i said i got no clue as i did nothing illegal, then got the "you better stop the cheek unless you want a fine", i then went what for? :P got breathealised had 0 drinks in me.. got told not to watch 2 fast 2 furious and behave like it on the road i laughed... i laughed harder when he said "im sure ur car goes like the clappers but dont need to do this on the streets" i LOL'D hard at that

might like to add this happened at 1am on empty dry streets

Drove my car yesterday in the dry and the Toyo tyres I got ****ed over with are worse than Half tread Conti's. Will never recommend these to anyone.
