havent done this today but over the period of 2 months. my pocket hurts too BTW

1. alternator died, had it replaced with major service

2. rear passenger window regulator went

3. TC and ABS lights always on and car in limp mode - alternator issue affected the ECU
-- replaced ECU

4. battery died - new battery supplied by RAA

5. radiator sprung a leak - radiator core cracked - new radiator and system flushed

Oh me too:rolleyes:

Ok so i only bought it cause it came up very cheap so i thought it was worth a try. Now i dont know if mine needed replacing but when i took it off the rubber seal had melted all over the sensor:(

Anyways, i took it for a spin last night and i can tell theres something different with how the car is on boost. Pulls very hard all the way through the rev range (stopped at 6.5k) and boost usually drops from 20psi to 16psi in 4th but now it stays at around 19psi. Will only be able to tell once on a dyno, but overall its an improvement on how the car goes so i'm happy wwith the end result.

ill still be there friday, just have to watch the temp gauge...
if it goes, ill get it towed home...

EDIT: if i can buy a waterpump off the shelf tomoro, ill do my best to have it in for friday. try and get my mechanic over to help out, and work through the night if i have to.

What rad did you get??? The waterpump is pretty easy to replace, shouldn't take more than a few hours...I did mine with the cambelt and all up it was about a 3 or 4 hour job including breaks on the driveway for drinks and lunch. :D

no idea what radiator, just a non genuine replacement, looks to be built better that the std tho.
waterpump is not a small job for me...
atm i am sitting with the crank pulley off, wondering how to get cyl 1 to TDC. cant see any mark on the block...
or can i assume that if the cams are set to TDC the crank will be too?

EDIT: BTW i bought a new timing belt, but mine looks in perfect condition and is only 30K kms old so i will leave it on, and get a refund on the other one, i need the cash for fuel...

My poor rev head dad is our home mechanic. He just finished doing my paint job with a mate and bogging and fixing my cracked side skirt touching up bumpers etc. now my little bro has bought a bommodore which needs a new clutch cable and has a boot leak caused by cracked rear lights and god knows what else that needs fixing on top of that he has a 68 hk monaro which is a sexy beast of a car but has it's own issues!!! We have four people in our family five cars with a two car garage and when my partner stays his ute is added to the collection. My house is a car yard :)

My temperature sensor was just hanging behind the bumper. It's originally mounted into the black mesh grill but had to take the grill out in order to move the intercooler forwards. This morning I extended the wiring for the outside temperature sensor. Drilled a 10 mm hole in the black small grill that also holds the fog light and pushed the sensor in. Now I finally can see the correct outside temp again.

Picked up my car, fitted up with an uprated actuator to fix my boost holding issues. Got told it was fueling alot in the top end which would be the ECU dumping fuel in to cool the motor. The reasons why, i would be guessing is that the fan on the dyno was really small and the other reason is the centre section of pipe from the front of the car to the airbox was half off :mad2:

Also get the alignment fixed up but need to get the shim kit for the rear and find my camber bolts for the front. Atleast it feels alot better to drive now.

Replaced the rear tyres on the Barina for a set of Sumitomo HTR ZII's. Very grippy tyre for the price. Similar to the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's I used to have. Hopefully the bigger air intake will arrive this week.

Started unpacking the boxes full of parts and figuring out what to do next...

Fitted 1.9 airbox (finally)...Much quieter than pod filter...Not sure on power though...Still need to make a few modifications for the CAI and heat insulation....Looks great though :)

Preparing to go a get my 2nd spare engine (after I get back from HK and Tokyo next week....)...

Drove it again...Damn good to be home...Looked at a new car....
