My FIL bought a cheap opcom handheld off ebay this week. I just tried it and it's not picking up the ECU.
I can buy you a ctn of something if you have working diagnostics that can reactivate my CC and maybe convert my lights to DRL's which I just found can be done on the TS as well.
It's an '00 1.8GL hatch.
Hopefully someone's thirsty :)

If you can use op-com on the car then you shouldn't need to activate the CC. At least you don't on the 2000 Vecs. The TS' don't run canbus do they?

The earlier ones are just plug n play. Have you checked fuses? Another common fail point are the brake and clutch switches.

If you want to check the switches it's pretty easy:
When driving along, try lifting the brake (and/or clutch) with your foot whilst activating CC... if it turns on, then you need to refurbish the relevant switch

Yeah, nothing doing. We bought it as advertised with CC 6 years ago and it's never turned on at all. Hmmm...
