View Full Version : Removing roof rail trim thingies

Hey need to remove the roof rail trims as theyre full of dirt and pine needles but have no idea how to do it. Tried a google search but it didnt say how to do it.
Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

On AH, I used a flat rope thing to under the rail and pull up, guess the same on TS, give a try.

start at the back. lift up. do not allow them to bend as they are aluminium.
if you have a plastic pry tool it will make your life easy. once you get the first clip up its pretty straight forward and easy.

Is it possible at all to buy new clips to hold the rails on or am i stuck having to raid the wreckers for old brittle ones

For what it’s worth I’ve pulled the rails off all of my cars to repaint them and never had a broken clip, i think because they’re out of the sun they don’t age as badly.
